Cartenza Privacy Policy

Cartenza is a private TestFlight alpha for Apple Music-powered listening missions. This Privacy Policy explains what information Cartenza may collect, how it is used, and how to contact us.

Cartenza is operated by Matthew Wittlief under the Vytis Studios umbrella.

Information We Collect

During the alpha, Cartenza may collect information you provide directly, including Survey reactions to artists, albums, songs, and related music prompts; mission reactions such as Love, Like, Ok, or Dislike; context tags, notes, and other feedback you enter; support messages and TestFlight feedback you choose to send; and evidence exports, support backups, or diagnostic packages you choose to share or upload.

Cartenza may also collect app and device context needed to run and debug the alpha, including app version and build number; device type and iOS version; Apple Music authorization and playback capability status; app state, mission-generation state, and local session state; upload status, diagnostic events, error messages, and crash or usage information provided through TestFlight.

Apple Music

Cartenza uses MusicKit and Apple Music authorization to search the Apple Music catalog, resolve mission tracks, display music artwork, read limited Apple Music-derived listening signals, and play music through your Apple Music account.

When you grant Apple Music access, Cartenza may process Apple Music-related information such as catalog identifiers and metadata for artists, albums, songs, playlists, stations, or genres; storefront and playback capability information; recently played or heavy-rotation items when available through Apple Music APIs; library-related song evidence such as play count, last played, or library-added signals when available; Apple Music recommendation, playlist-context, or replay-summary evidence when available; and whether catalog search, track resolution, or playback succeeded or failed.

Cartenza does not receive your Apple Music password, Apple payment information, or full private Apple account credentials. Music playback is provided through Apple Music and MusicKit.

Sign In With Apple And Cartenza Account Access

Some alpha builds may offer Sign in with Apple for Cartenza account continuity and authenticated support uploads. If you use Sign in with Apple, Cartenza may receive an Apple-provided identity token and account information you choose to share through Apple, such as a relay email address.

Cartenza uses Supabase for alpha authentication and backend services. Authentication tokens are stored on-device using the iOS Keychain. Cartenza support diagnostics are designed not to include raw Apple identity tokens, Supabase access tokens, service-role keys, or Apple Music passwords.

Local Storage

Cartenza stores alpha state on your device so the app can preserve your Survey, missions, playback outcomes, reactions, notes, saved evidence exports, and support diagnostics across launches.

You can use in-app reset or support flows to restart alpha setup or prepare support information. Deleting the app may remove local app data from the device, subject to normal iOS behavior and any backups controlled by Apple or the device owner.

Evidence, Diagnostics, And Support Sharing

Cartenza is designed so support sharing is deliberate. Depending on the build and what you choose to do, you may be able to save, share, or upload Survey evidence, Apple Music signal payloads, mission-generation request and result diagnostics, mission import or selection diagnostics, mission reactions, tags, notes, playback records, client state snapshots, app error events, and support diagnostic packages.

These artifacts are used for alpha support, debugging, product calibration, and improving the listening-mission experience. They are provisional product-test evidence and are not treated as final public claims about your music taste.

Mission Generation And AI Services

Cartenza may use backend services and AI service providers to generate, review, or enrich listening missions and mission copy. Inputs may include Survey evidence, Apple Music-derived signals, mission-generation context, candidate-pool information, and prior mission or reaction evidence.

AI-generated output is used to support the alpha experience. Cartenza does not publish your Survey responses, mission reactions, or notes as public content.

How We Use Information

We use alpha information to operate Cartenza and provide the TestFlight alpha; generate, import, enrich, and improve listening missions; personalize Survey and mission flow during the alpha; resolve and play Apple Music catalog items; save local session state; diagnose crashes, playback issues, account issues, mission-generation issues, and upload issues; respond to support requests; and evaluate whether Cartenza is clear, useful, safe, and musically coherent.

Service Providers

Cartenza may use service providers to operate the alpha, including Apple services such as TestFlight, MusicKit, Sign in with Apple, and App Store crash or feedback handling; Supabase for authentication, backend functions, evidence storage, diagnostics, and alpha infrastructure; AI service providers for mission generation, mission review, and mission-copy enrichment; and static website or hosting providers for Vytis Studios web pages.

These providers process information as needed to provide their services.

What We Do Not Do

Cartenza does not sell personal information, include third-party advertising in the alpha, use your information for third-party ad tracking, bundle or redistribute music files, publish your Survey responses or support evidence as public user-generated content, or treat one reaction as permanent Atlas truth.

Retention

Alpha information may be retained while the alpha is active and for a reasonable period afterward for debugging, support, product calibration, security, and recordkeeping.

You may request deletion of alpha data associated with you by contacting us. We may retain limited information when needed for security, legal compliance, backup integrity, de-identified analysis, or records that cannot reasonably be tied back to you.

Your Choices

You can decline or revoke Apple Music access in iOS settings; stop using Cartenza and remove the TestFlight build; use in-app reset or support flows when available; choose whether to send TestFlight feedback; choose whether to share or upload support evidence where the app offers that option; and contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of alpha data associated with you.

Children

Cartenza is not intended for children under 13. The private alpha should only be used by invited testers who are old enough to participate in TestFlight testing.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards for alpha information, but no app, service, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Changes

We may update this policy as the alpha changes. The latest version will be posted on this page with a new last-updated date.
